~The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 was the first Jeanneau sailboat to be equipped with a revolutionary deck saloon offering living accommodations comparable to those of much bigger yachts. ~
~A large forepeak with en-suite head acts as the owner’s cabin. Well finished throughout, the cabin provides a large double berth with plentiful storage in lockers and drawers. Both heads are of an excellent size with head, sink, vanity locker and shower.~
~The raised salon benefits from the deck saloon design of the boat with the large windows providing great views from the salon table, ideal for making the most out of scenic anchorages in all weathers. The large salon table and U-shaped settee-style seating are situated to the starboard side with the galley running along the starboard side aft of the salon table, the navigation station is port side opposite the table.~
~The well appointed galley is of a practical size, and catering for a full crew is easily done with a stove/oven, fridge, and double stainless steel sink.~
~The helm is placed forward in the cockpit to starboard of the companionway, this provides an enhanced line of sight, added protection in rough conditions, and allows more space in the cockpit to entertain family and friends.~
~This Amazing Beauty Needs Some TLC~
- ~Power Plant: Requires removal of the heat exchanger and a soak in Barnacle Buster for a day or so.~
- ~Hoses: New rubber braided hoses are needed for fresh and raw water exchange.~
- ~Thermostat Valve: Potential replacement needed for the thermostat valve (union joint) that opens at 187°F after warming up.~
- ~Maintenance: General oil and fuel filter change recommended.~
- ~Needs a new battery setup, separate from the house batteries.~

~Electrical~:
- ~Requires a new inverter.~
- ~If replacing the solar system, a new MPT controller will also be necessary.~
- ~Most of the wiring may need to be replaced due to general corrosion, as much of it is original.
